We believe the role of a Musician and Healer are one and the same.
Sunz of Sankofa is more than a music group or company; Sunz of Sankofa is a Come-Unity rearing initiative by a people expressing their love of individual thought for the good of the collective with a clear aim to heal a disintegrating community.
We are a collective of musicians, writers, artists, communicators and entrepreneurs who have banded together to use our talents and resources as one means towards the overall empowerment of our communities.
As you can see this portal is directly split between our music work and our come-unity work. We will promote and advance, for all, understanding of our Social struggle, Cultural reorientation and Spiritual Rebirth. We innerstand that many of OUR people's minds are confused and unwell. We also consider that if a member of your come-unity comes up to you and you turn your back on them; they feel no other choice but to run to an unhealthy substitute. We're going to take time and patience with our own because they're OURS...THEY ARE OURS!
We offer programs, which we refer to as "Passages", to the educational come-unity, as well as the active come-unity of Healers, Scholars, and Warriors. Our music, in itself, is an agent for transformation, not only for the listener but, for us as well.
Sunz music uncovers the calculatingly concealed pathway back home. We accept the Sankofa charge and express through art, the urgency and need to rear the village that will in turn rear the proverbial child.
